One of the ways to show love and affection is through touch. The gentle touch of a parent’s hand on a child’s brow to chase away a nightmare. The clasping of hands between close friends sharing their lives. A partner’s loving caress on the cheek in a tender moment.
Developed by Dr. David K. Hill, D.C., the AromaTouch Technique is a gentle way to combine the power of touch with essential oils to create a relaxing and soothing experience.
You do not need special certification, although there are trainers available to help you learn how to combine massage and essential oils safely and effectively.
There are 8 principal essential oils used in the AromaTouch Technique, a few of which you already may be familiar with, like melaleuca, peppermint, and wild orange. Other oils may be substituted in if someone has a sensitivity or preference, just be sure to skin test all essential oils before using them in large amounts.
To get started, try the AromaTouch hand technique. It’s simple, quick, and appropriate for anyone comfortable with having their hands touched!
Following the guide, you will become familiar with the basic principles and methods of AromaTouch. Try it out with a friend or family member who’s interested! It’s simple enough you could even practice on your own hands. (This might be especially helpful if you have a job that requires you to use your hands a lot for repetitive tasks such as typing or drawing.)
